"Sunset" frame

'Morris"

"School Days" layout

"Great Grandfather" layout

"Mary" layout

I was in a bit of a creative rut....
Since we moved here in December from Tully I have been rather unsettled and have found it very hard to get creative. Don't know what happened on the day but just got started and this is what I ended up with.
I was really happy with the end result, considering I thought my craft mojo and just up and left and was never coming back.
The photo is one of my Mums older sisters and another page layout for my family tree album.

" Kaisercraft Craft Caddy"

This is a project that I had planned to do mid last year but just never got around to it.
Finally decided that I should get around to it and thought that my Tim Holtx papers would work best on this one...lol
This is a pretty easy Kasier product to put together. Thankfully there was no painting, I just covered all the pieces in paper.
I used lots of different bits and pieces to decorate. I also used distress ink around the edges.
This sits on my small craft table in my craft area and holds all my bits and pieces that I access regulary like my tape, scissors etc.
In the top section I have a few of the small glass jars from Ikea with flowers and bits and pieces. In the drawersI have a few items that were pack in boxes but now they are in easy reach and I am finding that I am using them more often like my irock.

Finnabair classes - " Over load grungy Journal" (photo to come)

This was the last project for the weekend.
Finns new mixed media journals are just gorgeous. I love them so much that I have ordered a couple more.

At the moment I have not finished my journal from the class but will have photos uploaded soon of the finished project.

Finnabair classes - "Tea for Two" layout

When we started this layout I was very suprised in how Finnabair showed us how to do it. Never did I expect that we would be using cold tea and teabags.

This technique involved splotching, squeezing and dripping the tea from the tea bag all over the paper then the fun part of decorating with all the grungy goodies.

Finnabair class - "Everyday Treasures"

This was a class that I was really looking foward too...
We used a small canvas frame, but used the back rather then the front much like a shadow box.
Then with lots of goodies that Finnabair supplied and also bits and pieces from our own stash we went ahead and decorated.
Finnabair uses lots of products that I have never seen before these include the silks acrylic paints from Luminarte

and also the Primary Elements Artist Pigments. Finn uses these alot not just as a powder but also puts a small amount in a spray bottle and uses as a spray much like a glimmer mist.

I really really loved how this turned out and would have to say it was my favourite thing from  the whole weekend.

Finnabair classes - "Steampunk love" layout

I was lucky enough to be able to attend all 4 workshops when Finnabair tour Australia back in March.
I was so excited to attend as I just love Finnabairs style. She is an amazing artist and I learnt so many new techniques. It was the most amazing weekend.

The first thing we did on the Saturday morning was the "Steampunk love" layout.
This layout involves distressing the edges with tearinga s well as using long punches.
Lots of random stenciling with ink and the use of the many bits and pieces that Finnabair provided for our use.
Her products have been released through Prima and they are very resonable priced, Finn has also released lots of beautiful papers that we were able to use on the day.

"Vintage flowers"

This is another mixed media canvas that I started at Christmas time.
The colours are beautiful, a mixyure of peach, orange , pink and red....... I just love it.
The flowers are made from aluminium foil and I have used paver pol to adhere and make it all ahrd and firm. The paverpol also acts as an adhesive which enables the pain to stick to the foil.
I have also used other bits and pieces like buttons and wooden beads.
This would be my favourite painting that I have done so far.

"Peacock"

The very talented Anne from Tully tropical arts and crafts had done her own peacock and as soon as I saw it I knew that I had to do one for my Mum.
I just love all the blues in this canvas. It took my ages to do as I wasnt happy with a few things and had to keep redoing it.
My Mum just loves it which is all I wanted.

"Memories of Mission" a mixed media canvas

Late last year (2012) I started working on this canvas, seeing as we were leaving the area of Tully and Mission beach I  decided that I liked the idea of creating a canvas to remember our time here.
The very wonderful and talented Anne from Tully Tropical Arts and crafts was very helpful in advising me how to blend the colours etc.
The items used oin the canvas are bits and pieces that are washed up on the shore at Mission Beach including pumice stone, shells, sand, seaweed and fish scales. I have also added some mirror glass.....

I just love all the colours and it now hangs proudly in my bedroom.

another "Timeless" Layout for "Becci's Beads & Crafts"

For those of you who don't know, I am and have been Scrapbooking my family tree for many years now. So I spend most of my time doing this style of layout so one day I can complete the family tree album.
Becci has in her store the 12'' Paper Pad from Kaisercraft.
These paper pads have 60 sheets of paper and are such great value. I just love the "Timeless Classics" paper pad and have used a few sheets on my layouts recently.
This layout is pretty simple.
I have used 1 sheet of paper from the 12'' paper pad and the other paper came from the 6'' paper pad (Timeless) I just love the little 6'' paper pads, I think I have 1 from nearly every collection that was released.
I just cut out some squares and rectangles and mounted some of them on a bit of grunge board to give it some depth. I have also used some of the Timeless Collectables. These are just fantastic for dressing up your layouts and can add that little something extra.
Dont forget that the paper pads both 12'' & 6'', collectables, white Kaiser lace are available in Becci's store.
The flowers and all the metal embellishments are from my stash.
Ohh and I used some pink Glimmermist (also available at Becci's) on the paper before I put everything else on.Don't you just love Glimmermist.

"Sweet Nothing" Layout

This is a very easy layout usig the beautiful"Sweet Nothings" paper that I recieved from Becci's Beads & Crafts.

I have used the following papers
- Sincerely
- Devoted
-Silver lining
I also used a sheet of cream cardstock.
The rest I just used a few scraps that were offcuts from another 'Sweet Nothings" layout I did.
The flowers are also from Beccis, they are some of the Kaisercraft paper blooms in Olive.
I also used 13mm Resin Flowerbud Flatback Cabachons - Mixed with Glitter
that are from Becci's store. I love these little cabachons, they are so cute. I also used some of the spider lace and the metal embellishments are from my stash.
The chippies are the Dusty Attic Bamboo that are available from Beccis store.
I painted them in Kaiser Antique white paint and then put Distress Rock Candy crackle over the top and then inked them a little with the Frayed Burlap distress ink.
I have used the sketch from the Dusty Attic September Sketch Challenge. Might enter it in for this month.

"Dusty Attic" Advent Calendar

I have had one of these Dusty Attic Advent Calendars in my stash for over a year. When Becci said she was going to take pre-orders for some new Dusty Attic products including the Advent Calendar I decided that it was about time that I got it out and completed it. I have had an idea of what I wanted to do ever since I brought it as at the same time I also purchased 2 of the inserts to go inside. (Christmas Village & Christmas trees)
I pretty much embossed everything on the inserts which was pretty time consuming but well worth it with the end result.
I used some Texture paste to make the ground look like snow and then while it was still wet added some Mica Flakes to add a bit of sparkle to the snow.
The little drawers are all covered using paper from the Tim Holtz seasonal paper collection.
I also embossed all the numbers that are then glued on the drawers.

"Magnolia Grove" Trinket box ( Design Team project for Becci's Beads & Crafts)

I love the new paper collection "Magnolia Grove" from Kaisercraft. So I decided to make an cute and very easy off the page project using some of these beautiful papers that Becci sent me recently.
These are great for a really personal thankyou gift or can be done as cute little jewellery boxes for little or big girls or do as I do each year.....make them up in Christmas paper and fill with chocolates for the kids to give to their teachers.
This is the end result of this Trinket box made using the Magnolia Grove 6 1/2'' paper pad.
I have only used 4 sheets of paper from the paper pad.
I painted the box with Kaisercraft Dusty pink paint and when dry coated  the pink areas on the outside of the box in Tim Holtz Rock Candy Crackle.
I have also used a Kaiser bling flourish which I cut.
I have also used some of the Magnolia grove collectables on the top of the box along with some Kaiser mini blooms in the Dusty Pink.
The wooden leaves are also Kaiser which I have embossed with a 2 toned embossing powder.
Around the outside edges of the box and the lid are pink bling strips from Kaisercraft.
Nearly all of the  products I used to make this beautiful trinket box can be found in Beccis store.

"Christmas TO DO list Journal" (Design Team Project for Becci's Beads & Crafts)

Becci sent me some of the beautiful new Christmas paper collections that Kaisercraft has just released.
I have to admit that I have not done many Christmas layouts, when it comes to Christmas paper I think I really like to use it in Beyond the Page projects.
I decided to do a cute little Christmas "To Do " list Journal.
We all know how busy Christmas time can be, well here is a journal where you can write down all those things that sometimes we forget to do or just need a reminder to remember to do.
The Christmas card list, the present list, the seating plan, the christmas shopping food list....ooohh its endless......
and this would make a fantastic gift also.....

So the items that I have used are -
Kaisercraft Journal
"Turtle Dove" - Partridge paper
"Turtle Dove" - Drummers paper
"Merry Christmas" wood words
"Turtle Dove" collectables
album rings
ribbon, metal flourish, red brad and small brass bells are from my own stash but the above products are Kaisercraft and available from "Becci's Beads & Crafts"
I also embossed the edges of the journal in HollyBerry/ Red Gold embossing powder. This is the 2 toned embossing powder from Lindy's stamp gang ( moonglow)
